My London 2 day plan so far 15/16 Aug

Staying in Teddington Travelodge:

15th August - Train to Waterloo and then either walk/bus/tube to:

1. Buckingham Palace - 10.45-11am for changing of the guards at 11.30.

2. London Eye - any recommendations for best time?

3. Trafalgar Square, sightseeing and shopping.

16th August - Train to Waterloo and then either walk/bus/tube to:

1. London Dungeon Experience.

2. River boat from near Tower Bridge if possible?

3. Planet Hollywood for 6pm dinner reservation and then on to Lyric theatre for show.

Possibly going to do London Zoo on Friday 17th too.

Will these attractions be really busy considering August and week after olympics? I would like to use tesco clubcard rewards or perhaps 2 for 1 vouchers but with these sort of vouchers you can't book a time or date and I am worried about being turned away.

Also what is my best option for travel card for train to and from Teddington into London and then around london by tube?

15th looks fine, 16th looks very busy and quite expensive - I'd stick to a river trip (poss Greenwich) and a show max

Thank you, so you would say that 15th looks ok to just turn up early and pay on the day for the London eye. But perhaps book in advance and stump up full price to do the London Dungeon experience on the 16th or perhaps move it to the 15th.

my experience with the london dungeon is that if you turn up without a ticket, you will first have to wait in line to buy a ticket, then wait in another line to be admitted. this wait increases through the day, so get there early.

We have Merlin passes and when we go we get there just before opening time and get in quickly that way (within about 20 minutes). The Dungeons usually take about an hour and when we have exited the attraction, we have seen that the queue is way down the road.

On the 15th change trains at Clapham Junction for a train to Victoria (many trains, platforms 12 and 14) which is a short walk to the Palace. Then walk* through St James Pk to Parliament Sq and over Westminster Bdg to the Eye which is just near Waterloo. Scenic and avoids doubling back on yourself.

    * If you don't want to walk go back to Victoria and get an 11 or 24 bus to Parliament Sq.

the only thing i would say is change your dinner plans from planet hollywood to anywhere else ... we've been and found it to be overpriced and the food was awful

We have a dinner package and are only paying £28 each including tickets to a show, so happy just to be fed for that price.:)
