Old alliance & leicester loan

Hello wondering if anyone can help me
had a loan with alliance & leicester in 1997 for £5000 and had ppi which i believe we was misold can we claim back this far back.
Also where would i send the letter of complaint too as i believe now alliance & leicester is part of santander.do i sent to the alliance & leicester address on the a-z addresses page or would it be better sending to santander

Hi Hoppy, I also have old loans dating back many years with A&L. I ow they will have had PPI. I started with an SAR to Santander but they only sent documenets dating back to 2007 which is the date of the latest loan. I have today posted a further SAR to A&L so will be waiting to see what comes from this.

I will be puttng my claim in with A&L uinless I read anywhere that it should be Santander. Ill be following your thread to see how you get on as well - good luck

Although i sent an SAR to A&L yesterday, to be honest im' not holding out much hope of getting any info from them. So Im trying other means and as a result am pulling my hair out with this. Im trying desperately to find these old account numbers. So far I have
checked my credit accounts held on Credit expert. They go back a few years and i can see one account for A&L from 2004. - BINGO!! Unfortunately old accounts do not have ref numbers on them. So I phoned their CST and was told there isnt any way of requesting such info as they just don't have it. DOH!!

I have no bank statements showing this information either - have no idea where to go from here but i am damned sure i will not give up on this.
