Sellers Pack - question

My house is currently up for sale and my Estate Agent tells me that from June I will need to provide a sellers pack to fall within the law. I recall reading an article that stated that all homes that are already on the market will not need a sellers pack until 2008 - can anyone confirm please. Thanks

Yes you are correct, if the property is on the market before June 1st you will not have to have a pack until March 08 unless you take it off and then remarket.

Officially the grace period for property already on the market at 1/6/07 is still (currently) only up until 31 October 2007 before a pack must be compiled, but this is likely to be extended to March 2008 folllowing the latest consultancy report published by the government, which recommends the extension.

Details will not be finalised until April, but everyone in the industry certainly expects the 2008 date to be the one.

Your agent is providing misleading information if they are saying you will need a pack from 1 June, as this is only the case for property put on the market AFTER that date.
