You could try asking at the Help the Aged Adviser line and reading the here from Age concern Factsheets or finding your local Age Concern office to see if they have an adviser to help with your benefit claims.

My understanding of the Incapacity Benefit rules is that once you reach pension age your Incapacity Benefit claim ends and you then get a retirement pension. Given the levels of these it will be very likely you will also be Entitled to a Pension Credit. There is a factsheet about Pension Credits at the Age Concern site I have linked to above. It might also be worth getting a Pension forecast from Pension Service State Pension Forecast request page. and consider whether it is worth your while to make up any deficit in your NI contributions or not.

This is all about defering pensions. It mentions that if someone does defer a pension they will get an annual increase in their entitlement. I knew nothing of this butI do suspect that, as I am continuing to claim for my wife, this uplift to her pension will not apply to her. Hopefully someone on here can tell me differently. ::)
