Started having really bad lag on MSE

I use IE, and over the past few weeks the website has become incredibly laggy. Almost to the point of running on a 56k modem it takes that long to load.

I thought it was this computer, but loading it on the big PC the search box takes a long time to drop - and I get AVG warns me that the page I am looking at high memory usage.

I have posted my concerns about it on a social network site with some other mse friends, and they are saying they are having similar problems that have got worse over the last few weeks too.

have you changed anything?

Use Firefox or Chrome. Although works fine for me on all platforms
