Lenovo M519BUK

Hi,

I'm in the market for a new laptop and came across this one:

http://www.very.co.uk/lenovo-m519buk-intel-core-i3-processor-6gb-ram-750gb-hard-drive-156in-bluray-laptop/1082291101.prd?browseToken=%2fb%2f4873%2fs%2fprice%2c1%2fo%2f10

At £499.00 it seems a good deal.

The specs are:

  • Intel® Core™ i3-2230m Processor
  • 6Gb RAM
  • 750Gb Hard Drive
  • 15.6in Display
  • BluRay Reader
  • Dedicated RadeonTM HD 6370M 1Gb graphics
  • 802.11 b/g/n WiFi
  • Energy Management
  • RapidBoot feature
  • Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

Just wandering if anyone in the know has experience of Lenovo and their products and if the above is good value?

Just it's not a brand I'd be familiar with!

Thanks

I've recently bought a Lenovo z370 from here. Similar price, Core i5 rather than i3, discrete graphics, 13.3" screen instead of 15.6". If you definitely want the bigger screen, you might also consider the z570.

The machine (z370) is exceptionally solid and well put-together - many of the characteristics of an ultrabook but much cheaper. I read a lot of reviews and did a lot of research before buying this machine and barely read a bad word about Lenovo in general or this machine in particular. It's fast, has little pre-installed bloatware; the keyboard and screen are both excellent and the wireless gives me the full speed of my 60Mb cable connection. The only reservation I have is that the hard disk comes partitioned in a way I find rather odd and if you repartition it you lose the "one key restore" feature - which doesn't actually bother me at all. It seems that Lenovo set up all their machines in this way and their forum is full of people trying to work out the implications. Nevertheless, on the basis of this machine, I'd give Lenovo a big thumbs up.
