Have you tried googling his name first.]
Facebook?
BT.com have free telephone directory on their site.
That must have been one hell of a shock for him.
Was he told whethr the man knew his mother was pregnant before he left (or whatever happened back then)make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

According to his aunt he isnt on facebook. I did a search and 4 men came up.
According to his mother he did know that she was pregnant and the he told her to have a abortion. Saying that shes not know for telling the truth.
He is lead to be believe that he payed matiance into a account for him, but have yet to find it.0 -
I work as a family history researcher and have experience in doing these type of enquiries (100% success rate so far) -but they can be very difficult, time consuming, expensive to do and a lot depends on how much information you have, the name (how unusual it is), and how long ago ?
Assuming the name isn't one that is easy .. you start by working out a family tree for the father (get his birth certificate) then look for a later marriage record and has he got other children (who are more likely to be on Facebook or similar sites). If that doesn't work you look at if he had brother/sisters and work down their families the same way, until you find a living person to contact who can give you information
Before contacting him or anyone else who knows him though you really need to think through the possible scenarios - he may be very happy at being traced but there is good chance he may not, he may have another whole family who know nothing about another child in his past, or he may even have died.0 -
It is possible to trace someone who wants to be found through Traceline. there is a charge of £5 and they can find anyone registered with a Dr, so pretty much anyone in the UK. They will pass on a letter, provided it is in the person you wish to contacts best interest, so no claims for back child support, and hard to know how you would word a letter, but maybe an option as a last resort.0

I would say like any family history search - start with what you know. Try putting the name and the address into 192.com - amazing how many people stay put in one place all their lives! if that doesnt work then use the name but widen the area. he may not have moved far. on the off chance he does not use a landline then there are other options.
Findmypast has a living relatives search - I have never used it so dont know how easy or effective it is.
Friends Reunited is worth a shot - he may be keeping up with schoolmates, but not interested in Fbook.
Electoral Rolls - you may find him if you know the general area to search.
or as Pee suggests - if he is registered with a doctor (and most people are) then for £5 its worth a shot.0 -
I found my dad by googling him... luckily his name was one of a kind. My brother found me because I came up on google via twitter.
Try google... and if his aunt knows he isn't on facebook, then she must know information about him? If not, might be worth checking out the 4 names that did come up on there?0 -

Good luck in finding him.
Any maintenance paid would have been used up just for that, to help in his bringing up,so I would forget about that to be honest, it's irrelevan.
Let us know how he gets on.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
