    if it can see the recovery partition, it's not completely dead, try the bootcd

    if i try the bootcd, wont it overwrite all the data thats on there? (that id dearly love ot save it at all possible)

    From what you said above, you can see the hard drive's recovery partition, but not the system partition. This could be due to a failed/failing hard drive, but could equally be due to a damaged partition table.

    One of the options of the rescue CD closed has linked above is to recover deleted partitions.

    It's worth a try.
