i've always fancied one of these.......but is it idiot proof?! :rotfl:
i'm asking b'cos my bread's never been very successful when i've done it in the oven!
And does it work out any cheaper than buying a loaf every day?0 -
It's got the drop down kneading blade too, I hate having a hole in my loaf!

I have one of these and if I can use it it's idiot proof

I have one of these and it is very simple to use. The drop down blade is a definite plus.
I used to have a cookworks one but I accidently threw the kneading blade away when it was left in the bottom of a loaf!

It is sooooo idiot proof! I love mine! Yesterday I made pizza dough, and we generally make about 3 loaves a week now.
Actually, how's this for idiot proof - I forgot to put the paddle in the other day before putting in the ingredients! Fortunately I noticed, but DD is still telling the story of how mummy had to mix up the bread to get the thingy in! Still made a perfect loaf

It must be idiot proof if I can make a decent loaf in it!! I am also awful at baking bread in the oven, i have had my BM for 2 weeks now and not had any problems, bread always comes out right!!
As for cost, I think it does work out cheaper in a BM.. we were buying a loaf every 2/3 days at a cost of approx £1 per loaf, since having the BM I have made about 5 loaves so far, used 1 bag of Asda's own strong bread flour and 2 sachets of fast dried yeast... total cost so far about 89p for the flour and probably less than 10p in yeast. (there are the other ingredients like sugar etc, but I already had those in.. would estimate that a loaf probably costs, in total, about 40p to make)
The smell of fresh bread in the house is worth the price of the breadmaker alone, and the fact that it makes things like Pizza dough etc is a massive added bonus!

How long did it take to deliver? Seriously thinking of getting this but we move house next week.......I could always get it delivered to my mum's though, I'll be seeing her soon.0

Mine came within 2 working days of ordering. I'm thrilled with it - have had it for about 6 weeks now and no longer buy shop bread at all.
You do still get a small hole in the bottom with the drop down paddle - and the paddle doesn't always drop down, but because of the shape of the loaf, the position of the hole means it isn't a big deal!0 -
Very easy to use, I paid about the same price on Amazon last year for mine, love it!
Try a little veg oil on the paddle, helps it drop, I put mine into a pot of oil when it's not in use so I don't forget.
Rather than risk late delivery I would get it delivered elsewhere if you're moving just incase. One day I might be more organised...........
