Marton Mere Blackpool

Hi

I am hoping to book a holiday to marton mere in the next few days when my tesco deals come through. We will be travelling by train from manchester to blackpool as we have no car.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the best way to get to Marton Mere Haven from blackpool, if there is a bus that goes to it or how much it would cost in a taxi from blackpool.

I just wanted to know to help with the planning. Also, if anyone has been, did you enjoy it or have any problems? We have previously been to cala gran and to presthaven sands and they were great.

Thank you.

    Hi,

I haven't actually stayed at Marton Mere but we go to Blackpool every year and stay at Newton Hall caravan Park, which isn't very far away from Marton Mere. We always go on the train as we dont have a car either and get a taxi to the caravan. It usually costs us about £7 (theres 6 of us, so its usually cheaper than bus fares), so I'm guessing that Marton Mere wont be any more than £10. There is a number 5 bus which goes past the train station to Staining, which we always catch because it goes right past newton Hall and staright into Blackpool. I think where it ends is about a 5 or 10 minute walk from Marton Mere, but I'm sure there's other routes that will go straight to Marton Mere.
I love it in Blackpool, we go every year and the lady who's caravan we stay in has 3 caravans on the Newton Hall site, which are all lovely, so if ever you're interested in staying there pm me and I'll give you a contact number.

I hope I've been a little bit of help, enjoy your holiday, Lisa xx :D
  • Thanks very much for your reply Lisa. We were supposed to be going camping at easter with family but we aren't going now until the summer holidays and I can't wait that long for a break!
Am hoping to get an almost free holiday using my tesco deals that I have been saving, I only converted them yesterday, so I need them to arrive so I can get it booked.
I will pm you if I ever need the details for Newton Hall, it sounds great :)
