WFI and FT Carer?

My husband is my full time carer. I receive HRC. He is also my appointee, in that while the claim is under my name, it's appointed to him to deal with my claim and take care of all my money by the DWP.

However, we have both received a WFI letter today. One is telling him he has to go for a WFI, and another to me saying I have to give permission for them to discuss my benefits to him during the WFI?

I think this is a mistake, someone has not seen he is my appointee.

I remember he got something similar a few years ago and when he rung up, they said he didn't need to attend. He will also need to take me if he does attend - is this allowed?

He is fine about the interview as he has been looking for something to do from home so maybe it might help but the majority of day and night hours he spends caring for me. Anyone else had a letter like this?

I care for my disabled son and have to attend a WFI every six months because I am a single parent - even though I claim IS as a carer and not as a single parent. Once my youngest is 18, I will then have to attend a WFI every three years as a conditon of continuing to receive CA. This is what the Job Centre told me when I asked why I had to attend WFIs and i did look it up somewhere (can't remember where though) and found that it was correct.

Just an update. As I originally thought, the WFI is a mistake and was mistakenly sent out.

They had missed that my carer/hubby was appointee.

Technically this means that the claim is in his name for benefit purposes even though it's in mine. So it is me that should have been called for WFI and as I am on full care DLA I am exempt from WFI.
