16 Hour Working Tax Credits

Hello.
I just signed up to get some help and advice about the changes in working tax credits. I work 16 hours and so was eligible for WTC before the changes. I however cannot work the 24 due to a number of reasons (medical and nature of work)
I was discussing this with a relative in a similar situation and said that you can still get the 16 hour working tax credit if your income is below a certain amount and that she found this out on the Martin Lewis website. However, I can not find anything and I am really stuck and not sure on where to go and what to do. I have been to the CAB who weren't exactly helpful.
Thank you very much for your help and advice.

Whether you are entitled to Working tax credit at 16 hours doesn't depend on income (income affects only the amount you get) it depends on your circumstances.
Can you tell me:
1. How old are you?
2. Are you single/part of a couple?
3. If a couple, what does your partner do? (work/benefits?)
4. Do you have any children on your claim?
5. Do you get any disability benefits?

If you are applying for DLA and get it, then you will be able to get working tax credit at 16 hours. Similarly if you get other disability elements that qualify you for the disability element of tax credits.
If not, then you will need to work at least 24 hours no matter your income. (or your husband will need to work some hours so added to your 16 it comes to 24 or more).
However, once your child tax credit stops (when your son goes to Uni), you will need to work at least 30 hours (just you, you can't add them with a partner) to keep on getting Working Tax Credit.
