you need to register with student finance, but am sure you must have done this already? find out the phone no for SF and call them they are english and usually helpful.
i have 2 at uni now, u mite need to help them financially if you can as its so expensive for them and the grant they get isnt much.

If your household income is low the grant is pretty substantial.

i think the OP thinks household income shouldnt be taken into account for both children? or that there should be a second child reduction

unfortunately both children will be assessed on the same income. it just means you have to find double the money, which i suppose is par for the course, so far in their lives

When you fill in the forms they'll usually ask you how many dependants you have and will assess your outgoings and income. It'll be the same for both but it'll only be the amount it is - ie if your family outgoings were say 30,000 a year you put 30k on both forms, both get assessed on that, its no different from having 1 or 3 kids, it just is what it is. At least that is my understanding - hopefully someone can back me up or correct me. With that I'd be assuming each of your children's forms would include the fact you're forking out whatever you intend to pay towards their university (you aren't expected to pay anything)

If they are older or living away from home they can just be assessed on their own personal situation without taking you into consideration but I don't know how beneficial that is for them.

Each student applies. Ensure that each application form mentions the other (they ask about this on the last page). You provide details of your household income and expenditure: although you can do this on-line, things usually work out more easily if you provide the information on paper forms. Ensure that you completed one form for each twin, and on each form mention the other student in the appropriate place.
