hi, I have a 51 plate vw polo with an aftermarket sony head unit. it has very poor radio reception, I have checked the connections to head ubit and they are fine so i assume issue is with aerial (bad earth maybe)
Any thoughts on how i can solve this issue

Yes you need an inline powered aerial amplifer as the oem vw has a built in amp and the after market sony does not
This fit between the head unit and the aerial plug as is connected to the radio power
Try Halfords or a local in car entertainment specialist0
