Hi everyone and thank you for taking the tinme to read this post.
Ok my daughter has finally got herself back to work and starts her new job on Monday. It's a 6 month fixed contract working 37.5 hours a week although after the 6 months this may be extended to a permananent position (So fingers crossed).
Her company pays theri wages on the last working day of each Month so her next wage packet is officially on 3st May and she signs off her Job Seekers Allowance on 29th April so its a month before she gets her first wage . She signed on for hopefully the last time on friday 27th so she will obviously get her "dole money" on Wednesday 2nd May as per normal" our question is will she (or can she apply for) get any more money for returning to work ?
My daughter has been claiming Job Seekers allowance from 29th January 2011 untill 29th April so it has been less than 6 months.
Thank you once again for any help you can offer

If JSA is the only benefit she's been getting and it's less than 6 months then no, I don't think there is any more money. See link.0 -
i remember when my husband got a new job after redundancy and all we got was a 4 weeks run on for ct benefit, fortunatley we ad mortgage insurance etc, but basically apart from a possible back to work payment (which wont be much) i dont think you get anything. from a practical point of view, can she contact her banka nd arrange a temporary overdraft( much cheaper than unauthorised),
perhaps contact any loan companies, utilities etc and explain that payments may not be met so at least they are aware, wont stop any charges of course, but at least they will know.
basically she is gonna ave to bit the bullet and just accept that money is going to be very very tight for a few weeks , but it will all be worth it.
also with it only being poss temp, she must think about putting some money away each week readsy for when her contract ends.0 -
Hi,
Your daughter could apply for a crisis loan for alignment to wages. She will be asked if she has approached her employer for an advance of wages or applied for an overdraft. If she lives with you, a crisis loan will not be a great deal of money as they have slashed the daily amount for non-householders quite brutally (only 30% of benefit rate).0
