I have just come across this article, and I can't believe a person who has been offered this great selfless gesture can behave like this !! So I thought i would share it just for food for thought...

It's not all wasted. If the boss were the victim of a drive by shooting, they could harvest her organs.0

Thanks for your opinion. I'm thinking being sick, in need of an organ in this case, is the most vulnerable position a human being can be in, so I am hoping Karma or some kind of reflection happens to this boss person, because ungratefulness in this case is like not being worthy of something so life saving..:eek:0 -
the company are backing the boss's decision, i hope people vote with their feet0

what I dont understand is a company whose boss is sick actually ASKING employees to donate a kidney! I know bosses want a pound of flesh - but a KIDNEY?
I am often gobsmaked by the reasons Americans turn to litigitation - but in this instance I feel that the lady has good reason to feel so betrayed and hurt.0 -
I suspect there is alot more to this story than is currently out there at the moment! The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

It says her boss got annoyed with her taking 'breaks' and 'time off' ...sounds like she possibly felt she could do whatever she wanted now because she had donated a kidney to her boss?0

I do believe one does have to have 'time off' to donate a kidney and it does take time to recover. perhaps she was taking the P a bit, but surely a word of warning would suffice?
I think I may have done so in her position too - we are all human and giving your boss a body part could well make you feel you deserve a bit of a break when it comes to company rules!0 -
That's why I think organ donations should be allowed only within closest family.0

That might work in a world peopled with large "close" families, but it doesn't work in reality, unless you want an awful lot of people who currently receive transplants to go without.
A lot of people don't have a lot of family, and of those who do, can you imagine - our teenager needs a new heart, so which of us in the close family with a heart in good nick is going to die naturally soon, or volunteer a method of suicide that enables the heart to be harvested?0 -

The article I read said she was having ongoing complications from the operation and that was why she had to have time off.
I think if someone had donated an organ to me I would have found them some job even if it was some basic admin one.0
