They are not allowed to say. I've had questions about £5,000 before as the amount was out of the ordinary for the account and I've had nothing mentioned at all when depositing £10,000.midnight_express wrote: »How high would be considered "high" ? - just curious.
They do not make periodic checks on the account balance they can't do that. Only a authorized fraud investigator can get the information if they suspect fraud.Broke_n_Broken wrote: »They make periodic checks on your account balance to see if you're still eligible (due to savings).
Some accounts also have "flags" put on them, so if a high deposit is made it shows up on the system automatically.
This is usually done by computer and they wont see what you actually spend your money on.
They usually take photocopies of statements too, you should know these will have your account details on them anyway.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

They pulled me up when I deposited £3000 once which I had been saving bit by bit in my house. Wanted to know where I had got it from and what it was for. They acted like they didn't believe me when I said I'd been saving it up at home for about 4 years.0

Mine do. Once a year, at least with mine. Maybe I'm under investigation?....
It would be a very long investigation.

I just made my first HB claim and they never asked for any info, only tenancy agreement.
I know when my ex made a HB claim they asked for bank details and such, but I wasn't asked for anything.0 -
