I had this form this week, stop panicking, although these boards sometimes make you think you're guilty when you're not :rotfl:0

But the OP has admitted he is guilty! OP, now that you have suddenly remembered that you have forgotten to declare this saving, we can assume regardless of the investigation, you are going to contact them to inform them of it. Afterall, that's what you would have done had you 'remembered' that you had that account when you first signed on? The intent of the letter is irrelevant, what is relevant is that it prompted your memory to get back onto gear....0 -
Yeah sorry my bad, they are guilty then lol0

if the amount is enough to affect your benefit claim then it must be a fairly tidy sum, I am surprised that it is so easy for someone to Forget about money like this1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480
2 Stopped Smoking 28/08/2011
3 Joined Payment A Day Challenge 3/12/2011
4 One debt vs 100 days part 15 £579.62/ £579.62New challenge £155.73/£500
5 Pay off as much as you can in 2013 challenge!£6609.20 / £75000 -
The Benefit Integrity Centre is randomly checking claims. This is your opportunity to report your savings. If you fail to report them and they are reported in a data matching excersice you need to be aware that by completing a renewal form and by not declaring them again that you would be considered to be guilty of a more serious offence.
They would then have a false statement - if they haven't already.
At this stage your claim is not being looked at by fraud0 -

Hi i had one of these forms come through yesterday, and although i have nothing to hide it does make you feel like you have done something wrong. The only thing i am bit concerend about is the fact 2 of my 3 kids have over 5k in savings in child trust fund that was left to them in a will by my late mother, but the money wasnt paid in by me it was paid in by the executors of the will and it was before we was on benefits but it still did make me a bit worried.Raven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0 -

Check this carefully.
If you are able to withdraw money from your childrens' accounts then the money in question needs to be declared.0 -

It cannot be. It says in bold letters on the forms that the money is only accessible by my children and ONLY when they are 18. I even rang to double check. Do i need to declare this in the form?Raven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0 -
It must be quite a lot for it to affect your benefits.
And you 'forgot' about it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Give over...............
Not necessarily.
The OP could have £5,999.00 in her 'usual' account and this would be below the benefit threshold.
If there is £1.01 in the 'forgotten' account this would go over the benefit threshold of £6,000.00A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
