Payed £2,400 at University tuition fees, but did not need to, can I claim it back?

I enrolled at East London University for 2 years. Did not like the course and decided to drop out and opted to go to Thames Valley University, which I have stuck out and on my final semester.

Both of the two years at my previous Uni I paid £1,200 annually so £2,400 in total for tuition fees for the 2 years. I never knew that because my mother and father at the time was making less than a certain amount, I was entitled to the tuition for free. Took this advice and got my tuition paid for at my new university but thats £2,400 that I could do with right now.

Can I rightfully claim it, or some of it back?

Im I entitled to it now seeing as I did not know this info at the time?

Where could I start?

Any help much appreciated.

don't thinks so I'm afraid. Its like trying to claim a student loan in 5 years time when you've finished your course.

Couold I ask how you didn't know? This information is well publicised!

I agree with Blacksheep, you are very unlikely to be able to claim in restrospect.
    Gone ... or have I?

I think you're lucky they paid for all of your other degree as normally if you have done more than one year (started a second year) of a course before you are not able to claim anything over the standard package ie you won't get all your fees paid for just the standard amount and normal loan
