AEG 5yr Warranty

AEG are offering a free 5yr warranty of some items. But you have to register and the options to do that are post, ripoff 0844 number or online, so of course I chose online. I was asked for serial number and ELC. No explanation of what ELC is so I guessed it might be product number. Afterwards I wanted to check on that so I emailed to ask if I had done it right and I was registered ok for the 5yr warranty, only to be told:
I am NOT registered.
I'm had a call on the answer phone (in response to follow up email) telling me registering on the web site just activates the normal 1yr warranty not the 5yr (despite what the leaflet in the fridge says then!).
Anyway I would advice anyone who thinks they have a 5yr warranty with AEG to check by phoning or emailing [EMAIL="Customer.Care@domesticandgeneral.com"]Customer.Care@domesticandgeneral.com[/EMAIL] who as far as I know handle the 5yr warranty.

Found a better phone number 0800 032 8936. I think this might be for the normal 1yr but when I said 5yr they did that. Refreshingly they asked for the fridge delivery date which is when the guaranty starts, not the purchase date which is what I was asked online and by email.
