Wireless adaptor for Orange Livebox

Hi,
We have an Orange Livebox and use an Inventel wireless adaptor to connect wirelessly to the internet.
We have had this set-up for a number of years without problem. The wireless adaptor worked very well with Windows XP.
However, since we upgraded to Windows 7, the adaptor causes shut-down problems. Whilst the adaptor is connected to the computer, it will not shut down properly and always goes to a blue screen.
However, if we disconnect the adaptor before shutting down, the computer shuts down properly.
The model number of the wireless adaptor is UR054g (R01) V1.1.
We contacted Orange to ask if we needed an updated driver and received a reply telling us to contact the Technical Support line.
Tech Support have now told us that the Inventel adaptor is incompatible with Windows 7 and they no longer supply wireless adaptors free-of-charge with routers.
Because of this, they say if we want a new adaptor from them, it will cost us £25 (not sure if this includes VAT or not) but that we could go to PC World and look for one ourselves!
Can anyone advise us on a compatible wireless adaptor?
We are happy to order online if this will save money - we can wait for delivery because we are still able to use the Inventel one for the time being.
Thanks in advance

Hi, It seems your Wireless Adapter is quite old, which may be causing a conflict with Windows 7. As advised by Orange, it is probably best to upgrade to a newer one.
There are plenty about, including this one on Amazon. It is Wireless N enabled which could potentially mean a faster connection for you (depending on your Livebox's age) and is still fully backwards compatible. It is also Windows 7 certified so it should work on your computer fine.
As said, this is just an example and there are lots of other adapters available from different companies. The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

For anyone else, I picked up the one below, arrived within 48hrs, works with all the various OS's I've thrown at it.
XP (via supplied disk), various Linuxs' all worked plug'n play.

Hi again eveyone,
I've finally got around to having a proper look at the links that everyone kindly posted for me.
I've also found this one:

I'm thinking this seems like it might be better for us because it comes with a USB cable and cradle which apparently "allow the position of the adapter to be adjusted for convenience and to achieve the best levels of reception". The adaptor is needed for a desktop computer with USB sockets in an awkward position and although we have a USB hub attached, not everyone connected via the hub will work properly!
As the product description is rather technical, can anyone offer any advice as to whether this product would do the job we need it to i.e. let us connect a Windows 7 desktop computer wirelessly to the Orange broadband router?
Many thanks0
