CareParking charge in my own bay - expired Permit

Hi guys needing a bit of help.
I live in a apartment complex where we have to have a permit in order to park in our own bay. My permit had expired yet still had the correct bay number and car reg number on.
Where do I stand with this? I have sent them an email to their "appeals" address stating I am not paying this invoice, its my car in my bay which I rent (although the land is leasehold so in theory the leaseholder owns it)
They've sent me a letter back declining my appeal (although it wasnt an appeal). so what should i do now?
Ignore them? or reply? Also do I have a legal right to ask for any pictures they may have of my car? And 2 people driver the car so who would be responsible for changing the permit?
Thanks in advanced,
Kriss

Ignore them, but who actually owns your bay?
Get hold of your flat's lease (ask the landlord or another owner-occupier if you are a tenant) and find out whether you have granted rights to use the space.
The report back with the exact wording of the lease regarding the space.
All too often, management companies employ private parking companies when they have no legal rights over land owned by leaseholders. There's every chance you are under no legal obligation to display a permit. If you have granted rights, why are you displaying written proof to a third party that you are not trespassing on land you have the legal right to use?
All too often flat owner just go along with the management company's instructions instead of finding out where they stand legally.0 -

OK, I give up! I've googled and just cannot find it!! I really like the word "lickspittles"
and it seems to be a really good adjective given the circumstances, but what's it mean?? (I just want to able to use it myself in the right context
)
Sorry OP - if it's a private parking company, I'd agree - ignore em!0 -
Basically in the owners lease it states they have to agree to the terms of parking set out by the managing agent. In this case we have to display a valid permit. The bay is leased out t the occupier/owner of any apartment.
whats interesting however on my rental lease states noting about car parking. A memo was posted when the system was introduced but again nothing has been signed to say I received this.
this is taken form the residence forum:
"The *complex* lease explicity states that Lessees' agree to observe/adhere to parking controls set out by the manager/management company (words to that effect) No one 'owns' a parking space at *complex* (ie. the land that it sits on) but the right to occupy the space subject to the terms of the lease."0 -
So, does the management set the parking rules or the ppc?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Whatever, it isn't worth arguing about as you don't have to pay it. You made the mistake of talking about it which gave them the impression you were taking it seriously and therefore they thought they had hooked a live one.
Get a new parking permit and totally ignore them. They cannot enforce it, with or without the dopey management company, who evidently did not realise that the only victims of these parasites were going to be the residents.
Lickspittles!
Any probs come back, but doing nothing is favourite here and requires the least effort to boot.0 -
Sounds like the sort of word George Galloway would use (or possibly even has used).OK, I give up! I've googled and just cannot find it!! I really like the word "lickspittles"

Not from the Oxford English Dictionary, but will give you an idea:
Lick-spittle. A slimy grovelling and devious person who will do anything to get ahead in their life and career including accepting an order from the boss to lick a big green greasy lump of spit in the hope of promotion or a pat on the head.0 -
