Benefits savings cap

Hello to all
I'm trying to apply for benefits and I know that if you have savings over 16000 you wont be eligible for any benefits.
Can anyone advice whether this savings cap of 16,000 includes money that your child have in his/her savings account?
Or is this cap only for the partners savings, shares, or any other cash savings?
Your help would be great.

there is another thread on this at the moment.
Whose name is on the account
"Chojin for her child" is considered to be your savings except in special circumstances.
Her child's account in their own name does not count as saving for benefit purposes. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Its on my sons name. Ill have a search on the threads. Thanks for the heads up.0
