Over 2kg international post - Whats everyone using?

Got a buyer who wants a quote on over 2kg posted to Thailand.
I can split the parcel and send two Airsure packages but wonder if theres a cheaper option (needs to be insured for £500).
Wondering what everyone else using for heavy international parcels?
(I am aware that Thai buyers can't get their paypal accounts verified/confirmed so no seller protection - but I deal with them all the time)

I don't know if they deliver to Thailand but i have used Pharos International before to send to Europe and America and they were great. http://www.pharos-international.co.uk/0
