It feels great. Will feel better after Friday.Mike_St_Helens wrote:Hi Scoot... Hope you are doing well. How is it feeling to be debt free ?
Just make sure you are comfy and all you do is tell the truth.. The OR's are very good at what they do and at making you feel at ease.
Dont worry... Ill bet you have frown lines the size of the Mersey with the worrying you do !
i'd say more like the size of the Atlantic :rotfl:0 -
Had my interview and it went quite well. It was mainly to ask about dates the debts were incurred and tell me what happens next. She said I would get a letter in 2-3 weeks detailing the figures for I & E and assigning me to Clarke and Wilmott for the IPA. She said most of the figures were acceptable. She said they don't allow birthdays, Christmas and holidays, should be paid from surplus (I put down £60 for all three together) and £20 was excessive for dry cleaning/laundry. I pointed out that the OR guidelines state you are allowed a figure for birthdays etc and that i needed a suit for work hence the dry cleaning. She is going to look into those. She also said about the backpay from work that it would be looked at when I get it so I may yet be able to keep some of that, you never know. All in all, not bad. I was !!!!!! myself beforehand but for no reason really. Who thing took 33 minutes.0

My father went bankrupt last September and I did all paperwork for him as he is a pensioner and was scared to death by it all. I put down £25 per month for Birthdays and that was acceptable. My personal opinion is that nothing should be put for holidays as I wouldn't class holidays as essential expenditure but a luxury. In the circumstances I think forgoing holidays in return for a clean slate is quite a good deal and it won't be for too long.
My father received his discharge letter this morning (6 months to the day from his bankruptcy order). He has learnt from the experience and is now living within his means and is so much happier.
I wish you all the best.
Toots
I'm hoping that some sort of allowance is made by the OR for any of the three. I was going off the guidelines which state that £60-80 is reasonable for a family of four so I think £20 should be reasonable for one for holiday and maybe a little towards brithdays/christmas. If I get £20 as an allowance it won't be too bad.0
