students and housing benefit

i am a 48 year old mother of 2 teens, i am at present finishing my first year of an hnd course in moray Scotland and am really worried how i will manage next year as it seems from July when my youngest child moves from further education into higher education as my son already is not only will i lose child tax credits, child benefit but also the housing benefit help i have had up to now, My full saas loan will only just cover my rent and even if my daughter gets a full loan as my son does the money they can afford to give me for keep after excessive transport costs to college each week (33 miles each way) does nothing to cover living cost especially with fuel bills being through the roof, WHY is it people trying to retrain and start a new career so help themselves are being penalized in this way, if i chose not to work or have another child all my rent would be paid. Please someone tell me if there is any other help out there so i can finish my course and start earning again, PS i have worked most of my life and paid taxe

Next year? The housing benefit will end in September 2013. When does your course finish?

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

do you work? When I did my HND I worked full time - fortunately I worked shift work and could 'swap shifts' with others around my college time. I did not receive any benefits and managed to complete the course without taking any loans
