Natwest. Wife and I have had an e-ISA with Natwest for three years. They recently wrote to us to warn of a rate drop on May 14th. I went online and found a new customer could obtain the e-ISA with an interest rate higher even that our current rate before the impending drop.
Spoke with Natwest about moving and was told........"new customers only"
I could move my ISA to, say, Lloyds, close the Natwest ISA. Then, move from Lloyds to Natwest obtaining the new e-ISA rate as i'd be...... "a new customer".
However, whilst searching for the temporary home for our ISA's I found Birmingham Midshires offer a tasty 2 year fixed. Natwest have therefore lost out on two customers by forcing us to look around. Glad I have no shares in RBS who own Natwest. Mad way to run a company Hester.

Most banks, insurers offer best deals to attract new customers. I guess they know most of us are too apathetic to look for better deals. Good for you:T"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
