I thought they turned them off?
I think the only reliable providers are Vodafone and O2 here in Northern Ireland.0 -
They did turn them off and the ones I know about were never turned on again.
I moved from Orange to O2 and am very underwhelmed. No signal in parts of Belfast City Centre! Coverage from all networks is pathetic in NI compared to the "mainland"0 -

Something I have noticed around NI is in major towns and cities Orange and 3 perform well, when you venture outside a large town or city Orange and 3 are next to useless where as O2 and Vodafone will always have at least 2 bar signal even if it is only GPRS0 -

Quite false.
T-Mobile masts were turned off in Apr 2012 and Orange/T-Mobile/EE/Virgin reception has been awful since.0 -
I have to say I've been with Orange for about 12 years now and have never had a problem with them in N.Ireland or when over in England.
Cross over the border to go to Dublin or Spain, well that's another story. Prices sky-rocket to make a call or a text, and my internet doesn't work anymore. Was told last year that my internet has never worked anywhere else but the UK as they don't support it, so I asked how I was able to use the internet on my Blackberry in Spain in 2011 and by 2012 it had all changed. Was called a liar so made a massive complaint to a manager, who then informed me that low and behold, I would be able to use my BB internet last year again in Spain!! Since coming back I still can't use it down in Dublin??
But apart from that, I haven't been with anyone else and have no problem with getting signal anywhere, apart from 2 Tesco stores in Belfast where I get no signal what-so-ever :think:Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -
On a phone mast site near me, there is an Orange mast and an adjacent T-Mobile mast, which was rented from Northern Ireland Water. A few months ago, the mobile phone antennae were all removed from the T-Mobile mast and not replaced. I imagine this has happened across the UK where T-Mobile and Orange masts cover the same areas.0
