Help Needed on BMI Baby Credit Card Free Flight Offer

Hiya,

I was wondering if anyone has applied for a BMI Baby Credit Card for the free flight offer.

I am hoping for both me and my partner to apply for one and get two free flights. However, after reading the t & c's on the website I was wondering if:

1) The flights you can book are really restricted as on the website it says flights are 'subject to availability',with this being a incentive to open a credit card do they only allow you to book on the flights no one else wants?

2) Although it says you can book a return flight on any BMI Route, do they restrict the flights you can book due to availability.

3) If two people apply for the credit card can two vouchers be used at the same time?

I have earned 3 free flights with this card, and could not take any. It did not matter where I wanted to go, spain was first choice, there were no availiable flights throught the whole year!!! Written to them, no reponse. Why are people advertising this card when it is a total rip off.

This card is a rip off. Earned 3 free flights, wanted to go to spain, alicante. Could not take any throughout the whole year. Now changing my credit card.

OK if you fancy Bristol to Edinburgh on a wet Tuesday next January. Otherwise forget it!

You might also fancy the 12 months 0% deal but beware as you need to spend £100 to qualify for the flight, which you of course will immediately be charged purchases interest on.

This is actually a pretty decent credit card coupled with the offer for a few reasons:

- As a frequent flyer you get the benefits of being upgraded to Blue Plus status, and can build up more miles to use the Airline lounges

- It takes a while before you can claim the free flights - keep gathering destination miles as you go.

However, the flights ar eonly available on Star Alliance routes (e.g. a lot of them will go via Frankfurt of Geneva) to your destination - coupled with the taxes, it may be cheaper simply to book yourself.

One really good benefit is if you prefer flying business class, its x 1.5miles for business class, which is definitely worth the trip compared to paying over £500 for a flight to Spain in Business.

We are talking about two different cards here. The OP was talking about the BMIbaby credit card which was a mastercard issued by Citibank and AFAIK is no longer available. Justinecooper is talking about the BMI credit card (the parent airline of BMIbaby) which is an American Express card issued by MBNA.
Incidently Blue Plus status no longer exists and BMI diamond club will be integtated into Lufthansa miles and more sometime next year, so the general opinion is if you have miles, use them soon.
