hi all,
I've been reading a great deal about ppi claming and even though im in debt mangement i'm aware i can still claim, even if it only knocks it off the loans i'd be happy with that...it's where i want it to go anyway (debt free asap, i wanna be) but i have no paperwork absolute zilch apart from my creditors account numbers that is it, there is 5 creditors in total but i'm thinking i can only claim ppi from 2 of them. Now before i go writing in to these 2 (welcome finance + barcalys) had i better ask for documents to make sure, then write a letter for ppi...i'm not to sure what route to take first, my main worry is..i'm happy with my debt mangement payments, never missed one, i dont wanna do anything that is gunna start them wanting to up there payments or anything...can anyone advise me please.
thanks

I am in the same position although I understand from other posts on here that the 8% compensation is yours, not theirs to off set the debt you owe.
I have put into my letter that I want them to use any cash that I am owed to pay off some of the debt as I think this shows willing and is less likely to make them ask for more off of us! Like you I'm worried to rock the boat but anything that shaves off the amount and gets me debt free quicker I'm up for! fingers crossed and good luck.0 -
i thinku might stand a better chance if they think they are going to get it back but can only assume.
i guess i'm going to have to ask for paperwork before i ask for the ppi, seems like the best way for me.
best of luck with yours

What year was the Welcome loan? if it was on or after 14th January 2005
then you need to contact FSCS they are dealing with Welcome, if the loan was before this date then put a claim into Welcome and see what comes back.
As you have the account numbers then ring Barclays and ask if you had PPI.

Neither company can do anything regarding the DMP as this will be seen as treating you unfairly, the plan will keep going but balance will reduce by any redress you may get.0 -
hi amersall, thanks for the help, i have already posted the SAR letters...but i'm pretty sure i had the welcome loan after this date, i hope me sending a letter wont affect anything. do you think i should wait for a reply or just go ahead and get in touch the FSCS and let them know i have sent the SAR letter ?0

Wait for the Sar to come back then you will have the account number, depending on the year it may be possible to make the claim straight to Welcome, in fact you could give Welcome a ring and ask if they can find you, if they can and you have PPI they may do the claim, this will save you waiting for the Sar.0 -
