More Empty Threats From Excel?

I have just found this newspaper article:-

Excel gives drivers court warning

http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/action-desk/excel-gives-drivers-court-warning-1-4485523

EXCEL Parking is launching a new regime which will ‘significantly increase’ the number of drivers it takes to court, after it suffered a bloody nose in Stockport.

The Sheffield-based company, which had a £10 million turnover last year, has formed a National Legal Consortium to take on people who refuse to pay its hefty invoices for breaching parking rules.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

I bet "Pannone" wont want to join their "National Legal Consortium"

Plus I wonder if the two muppets who lost the Stockport claim are included? http://www.legatec-solutions.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=47&Itemid=53

Well, they do say that attack is the best form of defence. I'd love to see that list of cases. Is this a response to certain other PPCs' "maverick" approach? It just shows what S R-S thinks of the law of the land, though.

It's one of the better newspaper articles I've seen, though. I particularly note the exclamation marks around the word fine. It's the first time I've seen that.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

Simply a frightener. They can't change the law. If they do take more people to court and lose, then it is definitely going to be counter-productive. So just a bit of sabre-rattling, IMHO.
  • I hope they mean it. :D

I wanna go to court, I wanna go to court. :j

Good comments on there by Nev, one of our crowd I wonder ? ;)
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

""India maintains a large and highly skilled work force with strong English language capabilities. In addition, Indian lawyers have the built in advantage of a similar legal system based on British Common Law and many have additional training in UK law. Legal Process Outsourcing also holds appeal for professionals in India. Approximately 80,000 Indian lawyers graduate each year. For many of these lawyers, Legal Process Outsourcing is a promising, profitable, and challenging alternative to the Indian legal market. Similar to the British system, the Indian legal market is dominated by competitive law firms where advancement can be a tedious process over a period of years""
What good outsourcing to India when they can't even get it right in the UK.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

So ... just checking I've understood this correctly ... Excel Parking Services, the company who so spectacularly lost the Hetherington-Jakeman case, in which the Judge castigated their charges as "designed to frighten and intimidate", and also lost the Stockport Peel Centre case, which was featured on Watchdog, including the bit about chairman Simon Renshaw-Smith criticising the Judge as a "disgrace", yes this Excel, now want to take more cases to court???

According to the BPA's submissions to Government regarding the impact of the forthcoming Protection of Freedoms Bill, around 31% of PPC tickets remain unpaid after chasing the registered keeper, and this figure is increasing by 3% annually thanks to sites like this forum. SR-S is on the board of the BPA and Excel are one of its largest members, so these numbers are probably about right for Excel.

SR-S is obviously concerned that he may have to downsize to a smaller yacht, but the last place he and his odious henchmen should be thinking of going is anywhere near a County Court.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

Don't worry. If S R-S thinks he is going to influence judges by abusing them, he will have cause to regret his actions. I think he will be left wondering why no court finds in his favour.

He should stick to bullying disabled pensioners. Taking on the judiciary is a bridge too far for this legal(ish) crook.
