the good thing about RicherSounds is that you can pop in there and listen to each, compare the speaker reproduction and the DAB radio. Other than that Pioneer have always had a reputation for quality products.

They look very similar spec wise. The Sharp looks to have Aux in at the front and I can't see that on the Pioneer, but unless you demand that, I'd expect (based on some experience, and some brand snobbery!) that the Pioneer would be the better buy.

I have now found other hi fis which have higher speaker power?

All i want is a hi fi that i can hear either upstairs sometimes or certainlt in another room down stairs.

I would go for the pioneer but it is only 15 Watts does this matter?
    thanks

Reading the avforum in regards to Sandstrom, sounds like a Dixons group own brand product, traditionally these have been cheap and cheerful. Might be doing them an injustice, but I wouldn't go down that path.

Ignore the Sandstorm. The Sony seems to be out of stock. That leaves the Philips. Looks like you get more for your money, at the expense, of course, of size. If you've got the space and you need the volume for listening in other rooms, go for it...

Ok next question i can get the pioneer for £129 and the philips is £139 but the pioneer has got dab also.
But i would like to hear the hi fi in the next room, i have got these for the pc and i can hear them in the next room and they are 2 Watts RMS per channel (2 channels) what ever that means.
i think i have just answered my own question...
