Hi guys first of all you guys are great, I really need some urgent advice!!! My mother passed away in Feb 2008 and although all Her debts have been settled I know she had lot's of PPI and stuff like that which she could have reclaimed (if she was still alive).
Am I able to attempt to reclaim this now from the institutions on her behalf? I had power of attorney at the time?
So am I able to ask for PPI for the accounts my mum held and in effect be sent any refunds due to myself?
Thanks for the help, my mother always paid for this type of thing so it makes me sick to think that they would have kept it!
Thanks
M

You can as you had power of attorney/ and or probate, you will need to send proof of this to the banks so that they can deal with you, also the death certificate.
All you need are the reasons for mis sell and the account numbers to make a complaint.
If you contact the banks they will let you know what you need to send for verification to do the claims.0 -
Power of attorney is no good as it is cancelled on death.
Was there a Will and was Probate obtained? If so were you the Executor?
Without this you will have problems applying for any PPI refunds0 -

HI Guys
first off thanks for the replys!! I had power of attorney and the solicitor dealt with probate as per my mothers will. I also have a copy of the death certificate. I actually sent the letters yesterday to begin the process, so hopefully I will have positive news!!
I will post and update once I have one!
Thank you very much again for your kind help
