Where to buy a quality school jumper

Can anyone advise me on school jumpers please?
Can you recommend any shops which sell school jumpers which don't end up sagging or going baggy around the waist bands after a few weeks please?
Ideally washes well and the cuffs dont end up looking like a dogs dinner after a term.
Off the top of my head I am wondering if BHS or John Lewis/Next are any good? The sainsbury one I looked at the other day seemed very thin and cheap in price £2, suggesting it would sag in a few washes. I would rather pay a few extra pounds for something that will last a child's growth, rather than less than 1 term.
It needs to be a basic v neck age 5-6 in royal blue. We have had a M&S one, but that is already looking scruffy and its only been worn for emergency use, when the logo ones are in the wash. (Don't even get me going on the quality of the school logo ones).
Thanks.
Also tips on girls cardi's would be good too please, as I suppose I ought to be considering that too.

What colour do you need? Just if it's 'unusual' it might limit where we suggest. ignore just read you said royal blue
I find school uniform a pig to find in shops this time of year - other than odd bits. They tend to get a better range in around June-ish.0 -
John Lewis or M&S.
From experience though (3 schools plus a nursery with uniform) I have observed that how someone wears a jumper or cardigan has the biggest influence on its life span and appearance.
Most children I know end up with holes at the cuffs, neck or armpits, which is always (faulty garments aside) caused by the child and not the garment quality. Items that become shapeless are over stretched by the wearer. DD1 had two cardigans that lasted her for the 4 years of junior school (one for Y3/4 and then a bigger size for Y5/6.) It was washed every couple of weeks and then passed down to DD2 (who is much heavier on her clothes.) Thankfully neither are chewers or enjoy pulling sweaters down over their knees & legs which really distort them.0 -

I'm suprised M&S has let the side down on quality. I bought all my kids uniform from there (apart from shoes) and i was pleased with the quality. Ok, maybe i had a bit of an issue with the hems on the boys trousers coming down (cheap cotton) but i loved the quality of the other stuff. Jumpers particularly as they just got washed and chucked in the tumble dryer. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. never had a problem with them - cuffs haven't stretched or sagged - i get them embroided with the school logo and they're ready to go.
ds2 also has worn them (in red) - and they wore so well i passed them down to a friend when he outgrew them :TProud mum :T

I bought DD1's school jumpers in M&S yest. 20% off. No crest. Hers are blue but I noticed they had green ones too. For some reason the jumpers are stocked only in the boys section. They seem good quality so here's hoping. I want her sister to get wear out of them too!0

It's some years since I shopped for primary school uniform. However, I do remember looking for summer dresses, starting at the John Lewis end of town (£17 and 100% nylon). The nylon content dropped with the price until, by the time I got to Asda, 100% cotton dresses cost a fiver. I think that's what you call a no-brainer.
My point being: don't write off Asda because it's cheap, or assume that higher prices mean higher quality.
That said, I'm sure my son has been wearing an M&S V neck jumper (I think a small Blue Harbour one, bought in desperation at a no-uniform time of year) that I got for his sister in Year 7. She's now in Year 12.import this0
