Have put another post regarding my zoostorm netbook needing to have windows re-installed so need to remove the hard disk and transfer the stuff across to another computer via caddy (?)
My next question is how to safely remove this from the netbook.
My netbook is a zoostorm freedom 10-270
thanks in anticipation :money:

Removing netbook HDD's are generally not as easy as a laptop and the casing in most are complete covers, rather than coming with access ports for things like memory, hdd, etc. Usually it's a dismantle, than just pop open a port and take out.

gives some description to do it. but it sounds like a proper take apart, than a removal. I'd suggest you network it up and copy that way, or just go find a dirt cheap hdd to copy important stuff over (if you have a caddy already) or find a DVD writer (external) or external hdd to borrow. You don;t need to copy every file, just the important stuff (ie don't bother copying windows stuff if you're reinstalling)
If it is not out of warranty, it will quickly be if you open it up!0
