CSA take into account part-time job?

Hi
My ex-husband has just left me - we have a child together who is 5. Today I was informed by the cSA that only my husbands full time regular wage would be taken into consideration for my maintenance support, but he is a retained fireman and gets a retainer each months of over £300 and that's before any payments for callouts, which are £12 each time.
He has a great earning potential with this part time job and can earn a substantial amount of money each year.
Could you please advise wether this is correct?

It's not a wage or a salary. It's a retainer and is not included in the CSA calculation. The £12 is to cover expenses and is also a tax free payment which is not a wage or a salary so also not included.penelopewww wrote: »Hi

Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

He is taxed on his retained each month and it is also included on his P60 at the end of each year.0

I remember another thread not so long ago. Look back page 2 or 3 by now I bet it's there. There's an explanation as to why retained fireman aren't CSA'd.I'm never offended by debate & opinions. As a wise man called Voltaire once said, "I disagree with what you say, but will defend until death your right to say it."
Mortgage is my only debt - Original mortgage - January 2008 = £88,400, March 2014 = £47,000 Chipping away slowly! Now saving to move.0 -

I thought that their income was used for assessment purposes, but couldn't have a DEO imposed..?0

I thought it was the other way around. They can't be assessed on it, but as earnings it can be attached with a DEO.0 -
Kevin137 as far as im aware you are correct.0

Its true its not assessable. Its the same for TA, coast guard etc as well. Its because the government doesn't want people to stop volunteering0
