As long as it wasn't sold with known faults, then you should be able to get a replacement/refund. Although unlikely, it's their prerogative to arrange a repair if they deem it more cost effectiveHow do I add a signature?0 -
Any new consumer durable sold in this country HAS to have at least a year's guarantee, the price does not matter. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Subject to Figment's comment above, if not in stock, the law permits them to refund yr money. I wouldn't think it would be cost effective to repair, so Tesco may upgrade you, or give yr money back.0

Not sure about Tesco but Asda allow the purchase price against a new model.0

Rubbish. I suggest you go and learn about the Sale of Goods Act. There is no such thing as a fixed term guarantee, only that after the first 6 months it is up to you to prove there is a fault that was present at manufacture.0 -
Always worth a try!0

As figment says, if it was sold as defective or missing part (unlikely for tesco), then they could argue, you bought the item knowing it a problem.
As long as it is not been damaged by someone, then yes should get a full replacement or refund.
Correct me if i am wrong, but most of these 12 month warranties are worthless, more of a courtesy offered by companies to reassure the person buying an item.
Its the sales of good act that is what is important, as stated above 6 months. After that have upto 6 years to make a claim (except scotland 5 years)Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

A warranty is in addition to the purchaser's statutory rights. Warranty terms and conditions cannot void or diminish those rights. How do I add a signature?0 -
