Sidari (Corfu) - Any good for youngster?

We are about to book for self catering is Sidari (Nothern Corfu), but are slightly worried about whether there is much to do for a five year old. None of the brochures or travel guides say much about the place, other than the good beach and good shops/tavernas.

Are there any kiddie things, such as play-parks, kiddie-rides, tractor-train, crazy-golf, etc in Sidari itself? We will be staying in a small apartment complex, so probably nothing other than the pool for him. The beach is close by but a week in the pool or beach may be a little boring.

Has anyone been who can tell us what the town is like and what there is to keep a 5 year old entertained.

I went to Sidari one June back in the late 90's, and it was OK for us and our kids who were very young like yours. But we do not look for commercialism so maybe not after the same kind of holiday.
What I must warn you about is the mosquitos. Our children came back with numerous infected bites which required a doctors visit in the UK. Our local doctor is Greek, and when we said we had been to Corfu, he immediately said 'Sidari?'. Apparently the mossies are a problem as there are a lot of creeks there which have stagnant water. Something to consider....places facilities may change but the ecology usually doesnt!

We wen to St george south last year (DO NOT GO THERE) to cut a very very long story short we went to sidari in a hire car on the last day,

We found the meals much cheaper, the entertainment much better, the cost of day trips bus trips / boat trips much cheaper.

If it wasnt for the fact i have sworn im never going to corfu again I would go to sidari its a wonderfull place.
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

We went a couple of years back for two weeks S/C.Found stray dogs a major problem. There wasn't much to do for young kids but it may have changed.....
It was literally just apartments with a strip of restaurants and a few pubs/clubs alongside the usual pirate DVD showings/hair braiding etc.The restaurants were lovely but not kidified. Can't really see what apart from the "waterpark", a couple of arcades and the beach, that there is for kids.
Tried the chinese...was ok.And the trip to Corfu town was lovely~got proposed to there.Apart from that I wouldn't take my family there again~sorry :o

Hi, we went to Sidari last year, off season (end May/June time?), and we loved it.
However we do not have kids, and from memory I don't think there was much to entertain a little one. The beaches are ok, restaurants much of a muchness, and not too pricey.
We went off season, and from conversations we had with others in the resort, peak season is a nightmare! Several of the waiters commented that in August, people had to queue for ages to get tables, and if you ate early they would have to hurry you up to leave.
On the other hand we avoided the main strip, as too english for us, but they had lots of signs up for movies, pool, arcades and things like eastenders/corrie! So there may have been some kids amusements lurking somewhere around there.
The beaches were nice but quite a narrow strip of sand, so might be very busy depending on when you go.
Think thats all I can add, I hope you have a nice time wherever you end up!
