Nationwide sold PPI

Just found old Nationwide mortgage papers and PPI paid for years back to 2004. Is it still feasible to make a claim from them? If so where do I start? I have found paperwork stating I must sign the PPI papers as well as the loan form etc. Also I have another Nationwide document which I signed stating I did not want PPI on a loan..... I did not need it as I was covered by the company I worked for on redundancy, sickness and early retirement.

It is theoretically possible to make a complaint but your argument has flaws.
Firstly, if they stated you must have PPI then that is an exercise of their legitimate commercial judgement.
In addition, in 2004 the Mortgage Code Compliance Board actually advocated PPI for all mortgages - provided it was monthly premium.
It is not credible that your employer insured you against redundancy. If they did not intend to make you redundant it would be a pointless expense and if they then the risk would be uninsurable.
Sickness might be a reason but unless you can show how much you would have received it is difficult. Statutory sick pay, for example would be wholly inadequate.
Similarly, early retirement will normally result in a considerable fall in income. It is normally subject to the discretion of the employer and will not come into play whilst you are still receiving sick pay.
These are weaknesses in a complaint about MPPI.
As far as the loan policy is concerned, the evidence you have suggests that the policy did not exist.0
