Cold/warm water from hot tap, and cold taps run warm

It has all been resolved now.
It turns out that the old iron pipes in the house have been deteriorating, and bits of iron had got into the shower thermostatic mixer tap and had clogged up the non-return valves.
Plumber has cleaned out the valves, and replace a large accessible section of the old iron pipes, and water is all back to normal.
Just have to save up to replace the rest of the pipework, which will be a biggish/disruptive job..... probably wait until we need to replace the kitchen as most of the kitchen will need to come out and the ceiling taken down to access the pipework
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions and assistance.0 -
Hi.
Clearly you have solved the problem, and thank you for posting back.
Interesting that the old pipes would produce that kind of problem though.
