I am trying to think of a buffet style gaff along the A55 A487 A499 and struggling. Are you thinking of Indian, Chinese ? I have a picture that your daughter is younger than say 16 if she likes Chinese try FUs on the harbour in Caernarfon(park in Morrisons for free)3 minute walk. Ah what time of the day too? There is the always well mentioned Black Boy Inn ,Just inside the Castle Walls in Caernarfon too
EDIT: noticed that the China Garden as you pull off the A55 Bangor has closed shame. Nice people good food:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -
I can't think of any buffet places close to Hafan-y-Mor but you could try browsing through here - http://www.qype.co.uk/ukl12-pwllheli/categories/883-eating-and-drinking-in-pwllheli?page=2&per_page=10 or here - http://www.qype.co.uk/ukl12-porthmadog/categories/883-eating-and-drinking-in-porthmadog.
There's also a Table Table place in Caernarfon called Yr Harbwr (which is next door to Fu's that Greenface mentioned in the post above) - http://www.tabletable.co.uk/tabletable/our-pubs/gwynedd/the-harbour/menus.html. You'll pass through Caernarfon on your way so there'd be no need for a detour.
There is a place you'll pass right next to the A55 (just off Junction 19) called the Afon Conwy which is a Brewers Fayre and has a buffet of some description every week night (Friday night is Chip Shop night). The only problem is that it's at least an hour away from Hafan-y-Mor and the buffet only starts at 5pm so if you stopped there on the way through you wouldn't get to Hafan-y-Mor until quite late in the evening. We go there from time to time, mainly because there's a Charlies Chalk's play area, but we've eaten there a few times as well and it's decent enough. http://www.brewersfayre.co.uk/brewersfayre/our-pubs/north-wales/afon-conwy/menus/buffet-place.htmlThe fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us

Llanbedrog is about 25 mins from Haven (towards Abersoch), look for a pub called "Glyn y weddw arms" it's right next door to Londis. Lovely carvery (Thurs and Sun), kids menu and play area.0

Definitely agree with this. Lovely food here, good pint, nice family atmosphere and a nice play area for the kids.0 -
