has your auction ended yet? if not Ebay will pull it and they'll relist it by copying your text again.

And then you have no comeback?

My auction ended tonight and last time I complained to Ebay about this sort of thing they did nothing, just sent me one of those patronising emails. Hence the p&p thing caught my eye.

16 CDs to post could prove very weighty, If all the cds have there own cases etc then I would think £16 to be about right.

It might be costly to send all that - even the price they say, who knows? But it's the fact they are clearly advertising a method of avoiding fees and, although this doesn't potentially change what the buyer would pay, it is against paypal's terms and clearly someone else selling the same item for the same combined price (bid + P&P) ends up paying a higher fee to paypal than this person and so on that basis, it is not fair. There are three "teams" involved - buyers, sellers and ebay and all have a right to be treated fairly by one another. You're not selling on a level playing field with sellers like this making up their own rules.

if a seller sells a £20 item for £1 and charges £19 postage and packaging you have to watch when it comes to faulty itmes etc as seome wont refund poastage and packaging so could be used wrongly..

yikes my typing.. guess its bedtime

    That's a very good point.

generally, i would have thought that the seller could have got away with that P&P price as it isnt excessively high, but they really shot themselves in the foot with that final paragraph

ebay does allow reporting of 'copied descriptions'
once i was selling a record on ebay, and had my description copied. i fired off an angry email to the seller only to find out that it was actually an ex-member of that band!!

Yes, but how useful is it?

I reported someone who had copied and pasted my listing & its title word for word, and just changed the expiry date. We were the only 2 people on eBay selling them and I had spent time writing that description myself, it wasn't copied from another website or anything like that. I reported it to eBay and they said the two listings were 'not significantly similar'.

    a cd album weighs approx 100g, 16 x 100g = 1.6kg

you can send up to 2kg for £5.31 by standard parcels, £7.29 by 1st class, £7.40 by special delivery, £7.97 by 1st class recorded

so £16 is over double the most expensive royal mail option
