Hello right i have a question about lowell porfolio group when i was 18 i took out a store card maxed it out to the tune of £250 pounds this was ten years ago and has been over 6 years since i acknowledged the debt in any way shape or form, my question is this recently i recieved a letter from lowell portfolio group LTD saying i owed them £678 from the said store card and whilst i know that i never made a payment on the debt i also never acknowledged it by making a payment or in writing are they within theyre rights to pursue me for it as i would think after 8 or so years the debt is statute barred it does not appear on my experian credit report.
what i want to know is do i ignore them PLAN A
or do i send the lettr template found on this site PLAN B and in doing so will this acknowledge the debt
OR Plan C pay the debt leaving a stain on my now good credit report
Kind regards
Aaron Williams

Plan A for now. The debt is statute barred. If they write again, send them a template letter telling them it is statute barred and they have no rights to contact you.No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

no idea what my nerdnumber is - i am now officially nerd 229, no idea on my debt free date0 -
Plan A, or write to them now telling them it's SB to get them off your back sooner. Once a debt has passed the 6 year mark nothing can unbar it, even payment. Even walking into their offices in a clown suit handing out balloons with "I owe you £678" on wouldn't unbar it.0

Thanks for all the advice my only worry with ignoring it is i have read some truly horrific stories about these people where they enforced court orders and also left stains upon your credit file0
