Got my first letter today. I shall frame it! 8 more?? How dumb do they assume people to be, surely they would give up after 3?
I do admit i had a little wobble today. Suddenly thought as it was completely my fault they may end up trying me in court....but we will see, will try to stay strong! Just hope the security men don't come after me!!
PPCs can't really attempt Court now, as an Upper Tier Judge has stated they cannot enforce unless they own or have assigned rights to the land. The whole PPC model is stuffed we believe (not that they attempted Court often - in almost every case the don't bother anyway).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just to update.....since that letter I have had another 'FINAL REMINDER' letter and a letter from 'Claire Robinson' at Debt recovery plus. They seem to come every 2 weeks, so appear quite keen! Am continuing to ignore and feel so happy with all the advice which is here - thank you!0

Well done.
Ask yourself this - if they had such a cast iron case, why haven't they actually taken you to court, and why do they keep sending letters instead?
They WILL give up eventually.Je Suis Cecil.0 -

Second point: No private individual or company has any right whatsoever to impose a fine on another. Only those authorised by Parliament (such as councils, police, or Transport for London) have the right to do so.
Therefore, although they dress it up to copy a REAL parking ticket, UKPC have NO right to enforce it because theirs is FAKE.
Councils, police, TfL DO NOT have any right to fine anybody. Only justices of the peace can fine you (judge, magistrate) after a successful prosecution. That is why they do not fine you.0 -

She is quite well known on here for this little gem of a thread:

Have continued to play snap with the letters in the other thread, its been great
I have received another debt recovery plus and now the reduced amount letter.....My question is, with this recent letter they also sent through a leaflet from 'office of fair trading' about what to do if I'm behind in payments etc. Didn't mention specific payments, just 'debt payments'. Its very cheeky to send this to suggest this is an actual 'debt'. Is this common or do I have grounds to kick up a cheeky fuss about it?

Although it is not relevant to what they think you owe them, DRP/Zenith do collect normal everyday debts. They will no doubt say it was a clerical error!
Anyway its more hamster bedding!0 -
Others might be able to provide more accurate advice, but I think a letter to Trading Standards or the Office of Fair Trading themselves about that leaflet, considering that until such time as they take you to court and win, the debt is only 'alleged' and not real.
They are effectively trying to convey to you that you are somehow in debt to them, whereas you are not.
Might be worth a couple of postage stamps.Je Suis Cecil.0 -

Yes, I had one of those with the "reduced offer" letter recently. :cool:0
