Firefox defaulting it's searches with Babylon

Hi
I have Firefox as my default web browser on my windows 7 laptop. Version 12.0
Whenever I open Firefox after turning the laptop on, it opens with the home page Babylon.co.uk. It looks a bit like a google search, but isn't.
It also defaults to a Babylon search, if I type my search into the URL bar. Before it defaulted to whatever was typed to a new google.co.uk search.
The only way of getting rid of all of the above, is by resetting my home page back to speed dial, which it should be. To get rid of the URL search, I have to go into the about:config page of Firefox and change the keyword.url to google.co.uk
I am now doing the above about twice daily and is getting annoying.
I have no Babylon toolbar, theis nothing relevant to uninstall in controll panel, and I have no Firefox add one that seem to relate to the problem.
Can anyone help, so it stops defaulting itself to everything Babylon!!
Thanks

Any Help?
No, I'm afraid not. I've been through all of those pages with no success.
I've done an avast full virus scan and doing a malware scan at the moment.
If that doesn't work then I'll uninstall Firefox and start again. It's just a pain setting up speed dial all over again.
Thanks though0 -
Did you follow the link through to this too?

Yes. Still no luck0

Go into the add-ons - ensure there is nothing in there and also check in plug ins.
Also check in Tools->Options-> Applications.
Failing all that - go use IE or Chrome.
Personally I think FF leaves a lot to be desired these days. The other two browsers are better.0 -
From memory, if you run a HiJackThis report, you'll find bits of Babylon all over the place.
It would be best to post the log for someone to tell what can safely be removed.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Not sure about the hijacked homepage, but you should try this for the search:
type about:config in the URL bar, tell it you'll be careful. Then check what keyword.url is set to. If it's anything babylon related, you'll need to reset it; see here: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Location%20bar%20search
However Babylon has probably got its clutches into your computer and might well reset it each time. Try Spybot S&D and see if it can get rid of it for you.0 -

Thanks. I have to use the about:config process what seems to be twice daily and reset it back to a google.co.uk search.
I've just done a full malware scan with nothing at all found0 -
It's not classed as malware, more of a toolbar.
The Hijackthis log will show what's installed and what can safely be removed.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Just done a full spy to search and destroy scan and nothing found at all.0
