My husband started a fixed-term role (fixed-term until August 2012) in February 2012 and we have just got a mortgage with Lloyds (with whom we bank). They told us that they were granting us the mortgage despite the temporary nature of his work because he has been continuously employed for over 2 years, and I mean he has not had even a week's gap.
We were also approved for mortgages from Halifax and Santander but have chosen to go with Lloyds.
Hope that helps!
Its always good to share good news, but be very careful when accepting this is gospel.
Santander/Halifax do not have this within their policy and they would all need to be underwritten on an individual basis. This would be past the AIP stage, which I am assuming to what the post is referring to so please be very, very careful.
Lenders are very selective on temporary and fixed term contracts so please, please be careful before any credit searches are undertaken..
Well done on not giving up and getting the Lloyds mortgage though...I am a Mortgage Broker

Hi Dave Ham,
I appreciate your advice and we will tread carefully so as not to have unhelpful searches on our files.
I am waiting for my broker to come back to me.
My hubby is with Holts (RBS) but I wont check with them yet.:)
Thank you for your time on this great forum.
Cheers, Dealingwithit0
