Officially in recession

Fallen 0.2%.

We are now officially in a double dip recession.

Worse than expected. Noted as a "surprise".

Well, was pretty obvious, wasn't it. Doesn't take a genius, as we can now see! :D

That's what the economists were suggesting, on average as it were.

Got the figures from BBC Five Live. Haven't done any more research. Economist on standby is now making his excuses for getting it so wrong!

Good news for some though, is this could lead to more QE. Maybe even a fall in interest rates.

Must be bad for house price sentiment.

Will this be the beginning of the London crash?

LOL....commentator on fivelive just tried to blame the weather :D

He was very annoyed, and we should ignore these priliminary figures as they "sound wrong". We should wait until the revision, he says.

Thank you. 3.0% down in construction. Looks like that is a big reason for the downturn.
