Hotel For Thanksgiving New York needed

Please can the experts help me get a decent hotel in New York from 20- 26 November. Luxury not needed but a good position for getting the best out of the celebrations as I am taking my partner for his Birthday surprise. Thanks in advance.

Worth checking New Jersey hotels too, especially ones near the Path subway line

as you can be in Manhattan in a few minutes.
Off Manhattan prices are much cheaper. I stayed at this place a couple of hundred yards from Journal Square station

even has a view of the Empire State from some rooms. Seemed fine to me despite some mixed reports in Trip Advisor
