** I did put a similar message in the mobile phone section, but think the techie forum may get more replies**
I've just got a HTC Sensation XE. I just wondered if you guys use security software on your phones, if so, which?
Also, what software do you use to locate your phone in the event you lose it, or it gets stolen.
I'm upgrading from a Nokia 6300, so any newby android advice or links to resources/tutorials, etc would be very welcome!
Thanks guys.

avast do an andriod version for smartphones, check it out......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
Thanks GunJack. I think there was also an Avira pop-up for free mobile av when I installed the AV recently, I'll have to check that out too.
Having just checked out both, Avast looks like the way to go. Thanks again.0 -

I don't have a smartphone, but if I did I'd consider Prey, as referred to in a thread yesterday.
Available for Android and IOS, among others.0 -
the easy one is PREY
their is another one called "Cerberus"
https://www.cerberusapp.com/
It's free and I'm going to try it out along side PREY.
Best thing about this one is that you can record upto 5 mins of audio from the phones surroundings without user interaction (i.e. send a code to record and 5 mins later you get emailed an audio file of what the mobile can hear.)
as well as the usual "take pic/vid" options..Laters

Thanks guys. Prey and Cerberus are both very interesting options. Wow, tech has moved on and I feel old!0
