sorry if i have posted this on the wrong forum but please move if it is.
i have very long wavy hair, my hair is dyed but hasnt been dyed for quite a while. my hair has been due a good cut for a while but i cant bring myself to do it, now i have my second baby due august and it is very hard to manage because its so long and thick.
i wouldnt feel scared having it cut if i knew it was to help someone else so i would love to donate some hair but not sure that because my hair is dyed wether it would be accepted. if it would be how do i go about donating it?
any help would be appreciated. thanks.

I'm not certain about how to donate hair to charity, but have you thought about contacting one of the cancer charities for advice (if you are considering your hair could be made into a wig)?
Another idea is to get sponsorship and an article in the local press - ask people to donate and you will get your hair cut publically for a charity, possibly a local one if that is your preference.
If you have a branch of a cancer charity in your local area, you might be able to combine the two.0 -
thanks for the reply. i wouldnt fancy an article in the local press but could be an idea to get sponsered to make money for the charity aswell as possibly contributing to a wig, my hair is very very thick so hopefully it will be very useful.0

Hi ive just cut my hair and inquired to a charity. If you cut it well its in a ponytail and over 10 inches long you can donate to the little princess trust. The little princess trust provide fully funded real hair wigs to children with cancer. Ive just emailed them asking the full specifications so i can let you know what they say. I found them through the cancer research site HTHit might not be much, but its better than a kick in the teeth:rotfl:

Here's a webpage that lists a few initiatives that accept hair donations for sick children.0
